The Children In Our Lives

Little people.

Try seeing the world through their eyes.

  1. Hearing  the philosophies of life for the very first time.
  2. Trying to find their place in the universe before they even know who they even are.

That’s how I’ve been spending this week. Singing with kids. Talking with kids. Eating with kids.

It reminds me of my first years as a mom. Difference is, I give them back when it’s time to go home.

In the meantime, I’m re-learning a few things. All kids want

  • to be loved.
  • to be enjoyed.

Some ask for it. Others pull away because they are afraid it won’t happen.

Kids want answers to hard questions like-

  1. “What is Hell?”
  2. “How can God be three people in one?”

If you think a theological degree has stringent requirements, try answering these questions in 60 seconds or less.

Kids want hope.

They want to know that there is order in the universe. That God is love. Heaven is real.

This week, I’m relearning how important it is that children get the answers they need, the attention they crave, the structure they crave.

Singing silly songs, dancing to crazy tunes and making funny snacks is more than just kidding around.

It’s passing the truth from one generation to another.
